    Can't be without this
"I have mitral valve prolapse, and this is the only supplement I've found that keeps the bit of pain and heart murmurs at bay. If I skip a couple of days, I can tell. It is also supposed to help build a stronger heart muscle, and I'm all for that!"
Ubiquinol is the best form of CoQ10 after age 40 and has many health benefits.
"Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a fat-soluble nutrient produced naturally by our bodies, and is an antioxidant largely responsible for your energy levels. Found in every cell in the body, CoQ10 is concentrated in organs that require the most energy — such as the heart, liver, muscles and kidneys. CoQ10 is concentrated in these organs because it is essential to the process of producing cellular energy. CoQ10 is in some foods, such as beef liver, grassfed beef, chicken, mackerel, sardines, broccoli, and peanuts, and is also produced by our bodies. As we get older, our bodies produce less CoQ10, which can cause us to feel more tired.

There are two forms of CoQ10. Ubiquinone is the oxidized form of CoQ10, and Ubiquinol is the reduced form. Our bodies can readily convert Ubiquinone to Ubiquinol until about the age of 40. So prior to this age, either form should work equally well. After the age of 40, the Ubiquinol form works better and is more easily absorbed. Prior to age 40, both forms of CoQ10, Ubiquinol and Ubiquinone, are equally effective, but Ubiquinol is more readily available. Your body needs to convert Ubiquinone to Ubiquinol, and prior to age 40, this isn't a problem. After that, it's more difficult for our bodies to make the conversion. Ubiquinone is generally less expensive, but less effective after age 40.

This particular CoQ10 supplement uses Kaneka QH which has been noted as a quality source. You can easily find the health benefits of CoQ10 on the internet, so I won't describe them all here. I am 74 years old and have been taking this form of CoQ10 for 8 years. At this point, I have a high energy level and am on no medications. I believe CoQ10 has contributed to my health and energy level.

    Works great
"I recently learned that Ubiquinol is more absorbable than coq10, so I made the switch. I can't really tell a difference and would have to get tested to see if this is working better, but I'll keep using this and hope that my fertility increases! It was probably the best price for the amount that I could find."
More About This Item
  • HELPFUL TO STATIN DRUG USERS - statin drugs for high cholesterol have been shown to reduce the body’s CoQ10 levels.* Statins work by blocking the biosynthesis of cholesterol. They also block the production of CoQ10 which leads to reduced ubiquinol levels. CoQ10 levels may drop due to normal aging and to cholesterol-lowering statin drugs
  • BIOAVAILABILITY – Ubiquinol may offer improved bioavailability in aging adults who may have difficulty achieving high levels of this nutrient, or those concerned with nutrient absorption
  • UBIQUINOL HIGH ABSORPTION SOFTGEL - 2 Dosages 100 mg & 200 mg
