Works Good For Me and No Side Effects!
"I did not experience the problems that a lot of people have claimed, but then I've been taking a large amount of prebiotics and changed my diet over the last four months. Scared by some of the reviews, I tried only a half scoop my first time, but after no side effects, the next evening I took a whole scoop before bed. Still no side effects, so I took a whole scoop the next morning wanting to switch to mornings. Here it is six hours later and still none of the horrible gas or needing to go to the bathroom that some say they experienced.
What I did experience is that good feeling I used to have in my stomach that I have not felt for the last eight months since my stomach issues began. It's been a long road. I'm not saying this is the only product that helped get rid of my IBS symptoms, but it definitely helped.
If you suffer from IBS related symptoms and gastritis as I did (even went to the ER twice, which I'm still paying for!) here is what I did to cure myself.
1) Stop taking PPIs. They are good for short-term relief but will only prolong your symptoms and make things worse in the long run. This is the only thing the doctor told me to do, which is to take a PPI. I was on it for four months with temporary relief, but the pain and sometimes overwhelming nausea always seemed to return with a vengeance.
2) Heal your gut - After months of research, and reading medical journals and articles, while on the PPI, the science proves it's your gut that is the problem. More specifically your gut bacteria. If your doctor says there is no scientific evidence to support gut flora being the cause of your IBS, get a doctor that keeps up with science in medicine. There is a ton of research out there thanks to the human microbiome project.
Once I learned this and did research on which probiotics were the best to rebuild the protective layer of the gut, I bought these.
(Perfect Pass Probiotic Bacillus Spore Human Strain)
(Swanson L. Reuteri Probiotic Plus with L. Rhamnosus L. Acidophilus & FOS Prebiotic Digestive Support)
And, of course, this wonderful product which now I wish I had found first,
(Hyperbiotics Organic Prebiotic Powder)
Also, you need to change your diet. Stop smoking, no alcohol, sweets, or bad carbs. The absolute best thing is to try to switch to a vegetarian diet mostly, but if you are like I was, even a heavy salad made your stomach extremely uncomfortable (almost had to leave work twice). So for about two months straight I ate jasmine rice, roasted chicken and gravy, and tried to get in a little veggie. My family is sick of chicken and rice! Now that I'm back to normal I'm switching to a heavy veggie diet. I NEVER want to go through that again!!!!!!! Gotta keep those little buggers in my gut flourishing and happy.
So the chronology of my journey is this:
First two months, two ER visits, and a bunch of tests that all came back negative. Sound familiar? Oh yeah, I was also put on three courses of antibiotics. Why was I on them? No idea! The test for H. Pylori came back negative!
Next four months on PPI and doing my own research, because I got fed up with the doctor not being able to tell me why I had gastritis and not caring what the cause was, also started to change my diet after reading Fast Tract Digestion.
Next two months on probiotics and prebiotics.
It actually took less time to heal my gut than the doctor had me on the PPI. I know some may say I may have been on the mend already, but all I can say to that is it sure as heck didn't feel like it.
I plan on making this prebiotic powder part of my daily routine for the foreseeable future."
