Improving already
"To start this off I have dealt with chronic migraines along with a slew of other issues like food sensitivities, mood swings & nervous system problems that you wouldn’t believe. The only thing that has ever helped is being so strict on my diet to control all of the symptoms because my body has been in an overwhelmed toxic state that any extra toxic substances would throw me in a health spiral.
A friend who’s wife & daughter both have the mthfr mutation suggested I get the test to find out if I have it because of how chaotic the health issues have been & were getting worse. So I did and found I have a single variant but thought I’m dealing with extreme symptoms so why not try to add a supplement in to see if it helps. Because of what I’ve walked through I’m very in tuned with what is & isn’t working in my body.
This was the best one ingredients wise as well as priced. So I got it and my first try was a disaster. I did the full dose right off the bat. Sometimes people can’t tolerate l-methyl folate in its natural form & have to get use to it & build up. My emotions were completely out of control in 3 days although my body felt better, my energy was up, my nerves & muscles were calm for the first time in years the emotional response was so extreme I stopped the supplement. Went to work & found a lot of research on how to incorporate l-methyl folate properly.
It’s completely different this time. With how sensitive my body is it makes sense I need time to get use to it. I started on just one drop. I haven’t up’ed the dose yet because I want to make sure I’m completely use to it then I’ll add a second drop & see how I do. I’ve only been back on this for 4 days & which is longer than I lasted the first time I’m responding well. Im less tired, more focused, the constant buzz has calmed down and my muscles hurt less & my mood has improved. So it’s worth continuing for me. Not every one will see the change I have so quickly or with such a low dose but for those with very sensitive bodies I hope this review & process of being patient with my body helps."
This L Methylfolate 15mg checks the mark for me
"So far this product has wowed me. Lengthy review but THOROUGH and from a pharmacy staff member:
I take L Methylfolate 15mg daily specifically for the purpose of potentiating my antidepressant Lexapro. The prescription form of this supplement is called Deplin (15mg of LMF)- Google it.
Fun fact: LMF 15mg/Deplin is the only “supplement/vitamin” recognized by big pharma to clinically produce it stated results- equivalent to that of an Rx med. (See above). Folate deficiency (and conversely, proper supplementation at 15mg) directly effects the prevalence/improvement of depression and other mood disorders- when combined with an SSRI.
However Rx is expensive, so I go the route of buying this supplement online/OTC. Diff supplement brands vary wildly in their efficacy. Accordingly, I take my L Methylfolate v seriously.
High grade supplements are pricey by nature (ex: Xymogen). I prev used MethylPro ($40/30 supply) so when I saw this listed $20/60 supply- I was wary. (If something is too good to be true, it often is). So I did digging and it passed.
Pro 1: The most SUPERIOR form of L Methylfolate uses “5-MTHF” form. (Also called Metafolin, Quanterfolate). This supplement does. Check mark.
Pro 2: Even further, the most bioavailable/bioactive type of 5MTHF comes as “calcium salt”. Check mark.
Pro 3: L Methylfolate goes hand and hand with methylated forms of B Vitamins (energy). Methyl-B’s are essentially bioactive forms of B’s. ex: Vitamin B12 (methylcoc ), Vitamin B6 (5-T-5). This formula combines both LMF 15 and methylated B12 which produces a synergistic effect to them both. Essentially adding French fries + the burger. Very impressive. Comparable formulas that do this > $90.
Pro 4: Like most high grade supplements/meds, they are sensitive to natural exposure to sunlight and oxygen. This is why Rx bottles are orange (amber color filters pills from UV light) and serums come in dropper vials (oxygen). Proper packaging is essential. Rather than standard white plastic, this product uses an airtight amber glass bottle. No one ever thinks of this factor.
Pro 5: Fifteen milligrams of active Folate. Everything else held constant, the only efficacious dose of LMF to produce a clinically significant benefit (such as Deplin) is one that is 15mg. You wouldn’t take one Advil for a headache so… LMF 1mg, 5, 15 isn’t advisable.
Pro 6: ONLY ONE CAPSULE A SERVING. Nothing is worse finding an awesome product, then reading the back of the bottle and it says “Take 2-3 caps twice a day etc etc”. Also very well tolerated, no stomach ache or any noticeable “difference” in a negative way
Pro 7: The price $$$. Also manufactured in a USA lab (Florida).
I digress. Quality LMF 15 product. Would recommend to anyone seeking full folate benefits- but even MORE so, recommend to anyone on an SSRI or antidepressant. It greatly helps- just stay consistent.
Thx"
Amazing!
"Me and my children have ehlers-danlos syndrome, autism ADHD, chromosome 16 deletion and a few other things, I highly suspected that my children had MTHFR gene mutation. This has been a complete game changer for me and my family. My severely autistic son is talking again, is now starting to potty train and he's about to turn seven whereas before he wasn't even interested remotely. I'm not having a severe pots episodes. My children are growing and thriving. I've bought this several times and will continue to do so."
